There aren't many jobs as rewarding as a professional arborist. Every climb and every tree presents a new challenge both physically and mentally for the climbing arborist, and why learning skills and techniques with safety in mind is necessary.
We have classes for the aspiring climber, those new to climbing, and seasoned climbers looking to improve their climbing efficiency and proficiency. We can customize trainings to meet your or your employee's needs and schedules.

Pruning & Tree Surgery:
Learn the art and science of pruning for health, structure and hazard reduction. Students are introduced to the proper pruning cut, pruning methods, pruning objectives, growth response and strategy. Basic surgery techniques are also introduced: cabling, bracing, guying.

This 2-day course covers the basic skills necessary to climb a tree utilizing rope and saddle. Training introduces the skills necessary to assess tree structure, enter a tree, maneuver around the canopy, and return to the ground. Students are trained on the basic professional MRS climbing system and instructed on proper use and care of the equipment. All equipment is provided during the course, which allows climbers to delay purchasing their own gear so they can make more informed decisions. Beginning Tree Climbing provides the foundation for all people looking to climb mature trees!
Low student to trainer ratio allows for personal attention and the ability of each student to advance at their personal pace. Those who excel in the basics will be exposed to aspects of advanced MRS equipment and techniques on day 2.

These 6-hr workshops (Advanced MRS or Intro to SRS) introduce advanced climbing systems and techniques. Use in-tree experience provided during the workshops to improve your climbing efficiency, reduce fatigue, aid in better work-positioning, and extend your range of access around the tree. An assortment of equipment is introduced and available for your use, allowing you to make more informed decision regarding personal preferences.
Beginning climbers with a modest number of climbs under their belt may be ready to expand their skill-set with advanced MRS climbing techniques, equipment, and systems. Proficient MRS climbers may be ready to see what SRS/SRT is all about as you learn how to set up, ascend, and maneuver on a stationary rope system. The low student to trainer ratio in either workshop allows for personal attention and hands-on experience with an assortment of devices, systems, and techniques.
